The Leonardo Funk Machine Dual Output is the result of a study lasting more than three years that allowed Italian guitar builder Bruno Bacci, in the heart of Tuscany, to maximize the potential of baritone guitars in contemporary music. The Leonardo was created to inspire unconventional tones and creativity while maintaining the comfort of an instrument of the highest playability, beauty and quality. One of the most innovative features is the instrument's second output, dedicated to the bass pickup and positioned on the baritone's three bass strings. With this innovation everything can sound incredibly richer and deeper, opening up new ideas and playing techniques.

Baritone for a new tone

A total immersion into unexplored musical landscapes! Same 6 strings but a very different way of projecting your sound. Let's not waste time thinking that the Leonardo Funk Machine is played radically differently from a standard guitar; it is played the same way in a deeper register of voice. 

Construction

A lightweight Alder body meets a marbled maple neck as if it were the natural extension of a limb. All Leonardo Funk Machines are hand-finished by Bruno Bacci making them unique instruments.

Scale

Our custom 29.75" scale length allows for a wide range of low frequencies while still being easy to play. Our original 13/72 strings, powered by DOGAL, a handmade Italian strings company, are expertly tuned to perfectly match these characteristics.

Fine-Tuning

Each instrument is expertly assembled by the hands of Bruno Bacci, who adjusts its tension and intonation, perfecting even the smallest detail to ensure maximum vibration and definition of the sound.

Bridge

Our original Bacci T-Style brass bridge gives the Leonardo Funk Machine an additional distinctive element. As in the traditional Telecaster, the strings pass over the bridge, then through holes in the body, and are anchored in place by a metal peg inserted into the body that holds the ball end of the string firmly in place. The bridge features a beautiful, unique concentric inlay, three compensated brass saddles, and is hand-finished.

Pickups

All pickups in the Leonardo line were designed by Bruno Bacci in collaboration with Dreamsongs Pickups, an Italian company with extraordinary manufacturing capabilities and which produces, exclusively for the Leonardo Funk Machine, a set of T-Style pickups and the P-Style bass pickups that captures the sound of the fourth, fifth and sixth strings for the instrument's second output.

Dual Output

Why a second release on the Leonardo Funk Machine? The baritone guitar in itself has a lower register than a standard guitar, but Bruno's brilliance pushed this instrument even further into the inhaled universe of sounds. Connecting the second output to a bass amp gives a depht on the fourth, fifth and sixth strings that makes us hear the sound of a bass guitar by increasing its volume and amplitude.

Headstock

The headstock of the Leonardo Fun Machine is designed with an originally asymmetrical shape that perfectly matches the line of the body. It has a 9-degree angle specifically crafted to give the instrument just the right amount of tension and vibration. It is enhanced by Gotoh's G510 tuners and a precious bone nut.

Case

All Bacci cases are custom-made for each instrument and feature a boutique look with retro coloring and steel Bacci logo. The look is sturdy and comfortable with an interior woven fabric that accommodates the instrument while protecting against scratches and temperature changes.
